Two of the leading voices in the debate on technology and digital transformation are coming to the ABPI Global Meeting


Futurist Martha Gabriel and journalist Pedro Doria are the latest keynote speakers confirmed for the ABPI Global Meeting on Innovation and Intellectual Property, which will take place in Rio de Janeiro from August 16 to 18. Martha, who is also the event’s ambassador, will open the August 17 program at Arena 1 – New Technologies & Artificial Intelligence, while Doria will open the August 18 program at Arena 3 – Business & Intellectual Property Strategy.

Both keynote speakers will address artificial intelligence and new technologies—high-profile topics that will also be explored in several panel discussions throughout the event. The agenda will cover, among other topics, AI regulation, business models, the Digital Statute for Children and Adolescents (ECA Digital), Big Tech companies, the ethical use of AI, influencers, anti-piracy efforts, and digital transformation at national trademark offices. 

Highlights – A civil engineer with postgraduate degrees in Marketing and Design, as well as a master’s degree and PhD in Arts and executive education from MIT, Martha Gabriel is a columnist for MIT Sloan Management Review Brasil and MIT Technology Review Brasil. She is a guest lecturer in MBA and postgraduate programs at Brazil’s leading business schools and an international faculty member at CrossKnowledge. She is also an award-winning international keynote speaker who has delivered more than 90 presentations abroad.

The author of the bestsellers Liderando o Futuro (Leading the Future), Inteligência Artificial – do zero a superpoderes (Artificial Intelligence: From Zero to Superpowers), and Você, eu e os robôs (You, Me and the Robots), Martha is the Brazilian ambassador for Geek Girls LatAm and is regarded as a multidisciplinary icon in Latin America in the fields of business, trends, and innovation.

Pedro Doria is the founder and director of Canal Meio, a news platform with a strong social media presence. A columnist for O Globo, O Estado de S. Paulo, and CBN, he previously served as executive editor of O Globo and digital editor-in-chief of Estadão. He was also a columnist for Folha de S.Paulo and is the author of eight books, most of them on Brazilian history. Doria was also a Knight Latin American Fellow at Stanford University.
