ABPI Launches Competition to Recognize Research and Innovation
ABPI is launching its 1st Competition for Academic Papers and Abstracts on topics related to intellectual property, innovation, technology, business, and digital transformation. The competition was created to identify, recognize, and showcase research, studies, and practical cases that contribute to advancing intellectual property, innovation, technology, and business.
The selected submissions will be presented during the Papers, Abstracts, and Case Studies Session at the ABPI 2026 Global Meeting on Innovation and Intellectual Property, to be held in Rio de Janeiro from August 16 to 18.
The competition is open to professors and researchers, master’s and doctoral students, intellectual property professionals, lawyers, innovative companies, startups, Technology Innovation Centers (NITs), Science, Technology and Innovation Institutions (ICTs), research centers, and members of the Brazilian and international academic communities. The submission deadline is July 22, 2026.
More than a competition, this is an opportunity for researchers, professionals, students, companies, startups, and institutions to present their ideas and experiences to a highly qualified audience of leaders, experts, and decision-makers from the innovation ecosystem. The selected submissions may become part of the discussions shaping the future of innovation and intellectual property.
The selected submissions will be showcased before leading experts in innovation and intellectual property. This is an opportunity to connect with decision-makers from companies, law firms, universities, investment organizations, and public policymaking bodies.
In addition to an institutional recognition certificate, selected participants will receive benefits from ABPI, including registration for the ABPI 2027 Congress, where applicable; one year of ABPI membership, where applicable; the possibility of publication in the ABPI Journal, subject to editorial approval; and institutional exposure through ABPI’s official channels and event-related communications. Cash prizes will also be awarded.
