Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Siemsen was known for his intellectual generosity and dedication to mentoring younger generations. He maintained a strong commitment to education, professional development, and the continuous advancement of the field.
A passionate sailor, he was a Brazilian and South American champion, a veteran world champion, and also served as an international and Olympic sailing judge.
Peter Dirk Siemsen is survived by four children, to whom he was deeply devoted, as well as by family members, friends, and colleagues who now mourn his passing. His death represents a significant loss to the global intellectual property community. His legacy, however, will endure through the institutions he helped build and the ideas he helped shape.
