The legal action on patent invalidity
Focusing on legal action on patent nullity issues, lawyers Ana Paula Affonso Brito and Maria Eduarda de O. Borrelli Junqueira, participated on 14/03, moderated by lawyer Neide Bueno, in the second event in the series “A PI seen by Women”, which is being held in three sessions. The webinar, promoted by the ABPI Diversity and Inclusion Committee in conjunction with ASPI – São Paulo Intellectual Property Association, was held as part of the celebrations of International Women’s Day.
Ana Paula and Maria Eduarda are authors of the book “Comments on the Industrial Property Law – an exclusive analysis made by women”. In their presentation, they showed the various nuances of the legal action on patent nullities, such as defense matters, “external prejudice”, “judicial cooperation”, “conclusions of the report x conclusions of the magistrate”, expertise, jurisprudence and judicial decisions on the subject.
For lawyer Neide Bueno, despite the male predominance, there is an exponential increase in female participation in offices and in all intellectual property activities. She recalled, citing UN data, that women represent half of the world’s population and in Brazil they make up more than 51% of the total population.
