ABPI – Brazilian Intellectual Property Association is a non-profit organization that spreads knowledge and discusses the importance of Intellectual Property in Brazil and in the world. Acting as the guardian of intellectual property, with credibility and reputation, ABPI is an entity at the forefront of academic and legal debates on the subject.

Founded on August 16, 1963, ABPI brings together companies, research institutes and universities, law firms and industrial property agents from Brazil and abroad. Throughout its 60 years of history, the association has been promoting the dissemination of knowledge that directly generates positive impacts on innovation and economic development in Brazil.

ABPI represents in Brazil, as a national group, the AIPPI – Association Internationale pour la Protecion de la Proprieté Intellectuelle, the main global consultation entity for the study and promotion of intellectual property. It also acts as a partner of LIDC – Liga Internationale Du Droit de la Concurrence and of the Global IP Network, which brings together national IP associations from the main economies.

Among its various activities, the ABPI mobilizes working groups to analyze specific topics from multiple sources, to prepare recommendations and opinions, including acting as amicus curiae to provide scientific and legal support relevant to the interest of the entire community, always impartially. and nonpartisan.
