Chamber approves PL that releases contingency resources for the INPI
The Chamber of Deputies approved this Tuesday, 08, a legislative proposal that prevents the contingency of resources destined to the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI). The approved text is a substitute for the Finance and Taxation Commission (CFT) for the Complementary Law Project (PL) 143/19, by Deputy Marcos Pereira (Republicanos-SP), amending § 2 of art. 9 of the Fiscal Responsibility Law (LRF), so that the resources destined to the INPI are not object of expense limitation. The ABPI vigorously supports the approval of this PL, from the beginning of its processing.
When presenting the project, Pereira said that the blockade applied to INPI’s budgetary resources dams the granting of registration of trademarks and patents, which takes up to ten years to be released.
PLP 143/19 is now sent to the Senate for analysis.
