Rules for the 4th CSD-ABPI Moot Now Available
The Rules and Schedule for the 4th CSD-ABPI Moot—a simulated arbitration competition—are now available on the CSD-ABPI website. This year’s edition will take place on September 27 and 28.
New to the competition this year is the participation of volunteer coaches, who may support teams regardless of their affiliation with the participating institutions. If selected by a team as a coach, as outlined in the official Rules, the professional will have the opportunity to share knowledge, mentor students, and further strengthen their ties with the IP community.
Professionals interested in participating as volunteer coaches may register by sending an email to: moot@csd-abpi.org.br.
The award for duly registered advisors, if they become part of the winning team, is one year of free membership with ABPI, which includes free access to all events organized by the association, except for the ABPI Congress and paid courses.
Now in its fourth edition, the CSD-ABPI Moot is firmly established as Brazil’s first arbitration competition dedicated exclusively to Intellectual Property. Inspired by renowned international moot formats, the event—organized by the Arbitration Chamber of CSD-ABPI (CArb-ABPI)—simulates arbitration proceedings involving a fictional IP dispute.
Team registration will open soon. Eligible teams may include students from undergraduate or postgraduate Law programs, law firms registered with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB), or academic/student organizations and associations.
The 4th CSD-ABPI Moot is coordinated by Flávia Benzatti Tremura Polli Rodrigues and Cesar Rossi Machado, respectively Director and Deputy Director of CArb-ABPI, along with Manoel J. Pereira dos Santos, President of CSD-ABPI, attorneys Victor Lima and Camila Garcindo Dayrell Garrote, and Vinícius Pavan Lessa Silva, Secretary-General of CSD-ABPI.
