Registration is now open until June 30th for the 4th Patent of the Year Award, promoted by ABPI to value professionals and companies who recognize the importance of Intellectual Property. Patent applications that have been granted or patents currently in force deposited in Brazil and intended for the promotion of social equality are eligible for the prize. The award is supported by the BPTO – Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office.
The following criteria will be considered for the award evaluation: potential for generating social equality (35%), environmental impact (15%), potential for generating economic benefits (30%), international protection (15%), participation of Black inventors (5%), gender approach (5%), and participation of Brazilian inventors (5%).
The award will be presented to the winners during ABPI’s 43rd International Congress on Intellectual Property, which will take place from August 20th to 22nd, 2023. The winners will receive recognition plaques with reference to the 4th Patent of the Year Award 2023 and a free year of ABPI membership.
