Gathering and Inauguration of ABPI and ABAPI Boards
Relaxation, reunions, and much joy characterized the happy hour gathering and inauguration ceremony of the ABPI board on Wednesday, the 22nd, at the Casa Camolese venue in Rio. In a brief speech, ABPI President Gabriel Leonardos, re-elected for another term, paid tribute to deceased members and leaders of the Association. “It is an enormous responsibility to keep the flame alive for all who came before us,” he said, thanking the support received during his first term from all directors, council members, sectional representatives, study committee coordinators, and the Association’s staff. “Together, we will do more for Brazil,” he concluded.
As always, this year-end meeting saw the ABPI and ABAPI (Brazilian Association of Industrial Property Agents) boards being sworn in for the 2024-2025 term. During the ceremony, former ABAPI President Álvaro Loureiro wished success to his successor, lawyer Gabriel Di Blasi, who will take over the organization in January.
The festive event, featuring good music, drinks, and appetizers, brought together about 130 people, including distinguished guests such as the President of the BPTO (Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office), Julio Cesar Moreira, Patent Director Alexandre Dantas Rodrigues, Federal Judge Márcia Nunes de Barros, and former BPTO President Cláudio Furtado, among others.
The complete list below includes those re-elected, according to the slate proposed by the ABPI’s Nominations Committee for the 2024-2025 biennium, including honorary and lifetime members who do not undergo elections.
