CSD-ABPI Remains the Leader in .br Domain Name Disputes in 2024

Maintaining its leadership in resolving disputes involving .br domain names, the CSD-ABPI handled 55 new disputes in 2024 and issued 59 decisions throughout the year.

Of the decisions rendered, 89% favored the complainants, with 80% resulting in the transfer of domain ownership to the complainant and 9% leading to the cancellation of disputed domains. On the other hand, 11% of requests were denied, allowing respondents to retain ownership of the domain names. Additionally, 4 cases were resolved through agreements between the parties.

According to Wilson Pinheiro Jabur, Director of CASD-ND, the results reflect CSD-ABPI’s ongoing investments in technology and professional training.

“Our online platform provides users with an easy and efficient way to initiate domain name disputes securely, ensuring confidentiality and privacy for the parties involved. At the same time, we offer courses and training to ensure our specialists stay up-to-date,” he emphasized.

The CASD-ND is dedicated to assisting individuals and legal entities in resolving disputes involving domain names under the “.br” extension. These disputes typically concern domains identical or confusingly similar to prior rights, such as trademarks, trade names, business names, civil names, patronymics, pseudonyms, well-known nicknames, artistic names, or pre-existing domain names.
