Congress in Foz do Iguaçu may have record audience
Registrations for ABPI’s 40th International Congress on Intellectual Property in Foz do Iguaçu, to be held in the state of Paraná, Brazil, from August 22 to 25, shall open on January 27th. The largest and most important event of its kind in Latin America will have three thematic axes: energy, agribusiness, and piracy. “This year, in an atmosphere of work and socializing, participants will also be able to discover the natural beauty of the Iguaçu Falls, the majestic engineering work of the Itaipu Power Plant and other local attractions”, says Maria Inez A. de Abreu, ABPI’s sectional representative in Paraná and one of the event organizers.
The event will be held in the Wish Resort Golf Convention Foz do Iguaçu, which is close to the entrance to the Iguaçu National Park, which houses the famous waterfalls and has been awarded for several consecutive years as the best family resort in all of South America. During four days on-site, and in an environment conducive to networking and business, entrepreneurs, magistrates, government authorities, parliamentarians, lawyers, academics, among the greatest experts in Intellectual Property, from Brazil and abroad, shall discuss topics of great relevance to the global innovation market.
Panels, plenary sessions and roundtables with experts will discuss aspects of the globalization movement of markets and digital economy from the perspective of Intellectual Property. Research, development and technological innovation in the scope of agribusiness, renewable energies, as well as to several other segments, such as medicines, software, and the automotive industry, will be issues of great debate among participants. At the legal level, essential aspects of Intellectual Property legislation and the regulatory system will be addressed, such as piracy, technology transfer, alternative dispute resolution systems, and international trademark registrations through the Madrid System, always in direct connection with the Business World.
The expectation is for a record audience, exceeding 1,000 participants. Many foreigners are already looking for information about the event. In addition to the recently expanded Foz do Iguaçu airport, attendees will be able to disembark at the Aeropuerto Cataratas del Iguazu, on the Argentine side, or at the Ciudad del Este International Airport, in Paraguay.
