Castelo Branco Moreira is named occasional substitute in the presidency of the BPTO
The Brazilian Vice-President of the Republic and Minister of Development, Industry, Commerce, and Services, Geraldo Alckmin, appointed the current Director of Administration of the BPTO (Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office), Júlio César Castelo Branco Reis Moreira, as an occasional substitute for the President of the BPTO in the vacancy of the post.
The designation was made official by Personnel Ordinance No. 1, of 01/17/2023 and published in the Federal Official Gazette (DOU), on 01/18/2023.
Reis Moreira holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Bahia (1990), a master’s degree in Petroleum Science and Engineering from the State University of Campinas (1993), and a Ph.D. in Chemical and Biochemical Process Technology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2006). Since 1998 he has been a researcher in Industrial Property at the BPTO. Furthermore, he served as Director of Patents from June 2011 to June 2018.
