On June 20th, another ABPI Representations event took place. This time, it was organized by the Brasília and Goiás Sections and focused on the theme “IP Tech Day.” The event featured three presentations: “IP Registration System in Brazil and Trademark Protection Journey” by Sérgio Ribeiro da Silva, an IP agent from Brasília; “Protection of New Plant Varieties in Brazil: Importance, Requirements, and Differences between Registration and Cultivar Protection” by Caroline Rodrigues Paie, an Environmental Chemist from USP (University of São Paulo) and patent analyst based in São Paulo; and “Defense of IP Rights through the Traditional Justice System and Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods” by Ana Paula de Aguiar Tempesta, a lawyer, mediator, arbitrator, and expert from the CSD-ABPI’s Domain Name Dispute Resolution Chamber.
The guests were welcomed and moderated by Alexandre Müller Buarque Viveiros, ABPI’s sectional representative in Brasília, and Fabio Carraro, ABPI’s sectional representative in Goiás. The event received support from the OAB-DF and the Corporate Law Commission of the OAB-Goiás.
