Accelerated examination and licensing of COVID-19-related patents

The discussion between patents and developments concerning the pandemic always yields good discussions. To understand how this has been happening at an international level, ABPI placed on the agenda of its 40th International Congress, the Table Topic “Accelerated examination and licensing of Covid-19-related patents in Brazil, Europe, the United States and Asia”, which was moderated by Leonor Magalhães Galvão, from Magellan IP.

To discuss the matter, on the third day of the Congress she welcomed Caroline Pallard, partner of NLO, from the Netherlands, Michael Lin, partner of Marks & Clerk, from the Hong Kong, and Sanya Sukduang, partner of Cooley LLP, from the United States. To talk about the Brazilian experience, Diego Musskopf, a researcher from the BPTO who also joined the Table Topic.
