Assigned to participate in the meetings of the GIPI (Interministerial Group on Intellectual Property), according to Resolution GIPI/ME of July 1st, 2021, ABPI is mobilized to provide the necessary technical support for the formulation of the National Intellectual Property Strategy (ENPI), within the Ministry of Economy. The selected institutions will have a one-year term, starting in August, and will have a voice in the implementation and monitoring of the ENPI for the biennium from August/2021 to July/2023.
ABPI’s participation in the GIPI, according to its president, Luiz Edgard Montaury Pimenta, is because the entity is one of the most active in Brazil in the IP area on several fronts, whether through management with the Judiciary, the BPTO, and in the discussions of Bills in the Legislative. “ABPI’s mission is to ensure the proper functioning of the IP system in Brazil”, recalls ABPI’s president. By bringing together the greatest experts in the various IP strands, ABPI Study Committees are prepared to support the GIPI/ENPI with studies, resolutions, and proposals to improve the Brazilian intellectual property system.
