8th Representations Event will be in Alagoas

The 8th Representations Event organized by ABPI will take place on September 28th, this time hosted by the Alagoas Section and themed “Round ABPI – Workshop on Contracts.”

The event, which will run from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (BRT), will be held in person and aims to clarify the importance of Intellectual Capital Protection in Business Development, with a special focus on intellectual property contracts. Topics such as Trademark, Patent, and Industrial Design contracts will be discussed, and there will be a Franchise Contracts Workshop.

The event is open to lawyers, entrepreneurs, professionals, and students from all fields.

Branca Alves, the representative of ABPI’s Alagoas Section and president of the Intellectual Property Law Committee of OAB/AL, will welcome the guests at the opening ceremony at 9:00 a.m.

Next, Renata Lisboa, coordinator of ABPI-Ceduc, will deliver a presentation on “The Importance of Intellectual Capital Protection in Business Development.” At 10:30 a.m., Renata will return to discuss “Trademark, Patent, and Industrial Design Rights Contracts – Important Clauses.”

At 11:00 a.m., Patrícia Falcão, coordinator of ABPI’s Technology Transfer and Franchising Committee, will present a talk on “Supply Contracts for Technology and Technical and Scientific Assistance Services.”

At 11:30 a.m., there will be a presentation on “Registration of Contracts with the BPTO – Requirements, Recommendations, and Procedures,” delivered by a representative from the BPTO’s Technology Contracts Coordination (INPI-CGTEC).

At 2:00 p.m., Marcio Merkl, coordinator of ABPI’s International Law of Intellectual Property Committee, will present the lecture “Patent License Agreements and FRAND Clauses – Market Impacts on Contracts.”

The practical activity of the event will be the Franchise Contracts Workshop, conducted by Renata Lisboa, starting at 3:15 p.m.

At 5:15 p.m., the closing panel will feature Branca Alves, a representative from Sebrae, a representative from IFAl/PROFINIT, and Maria Inez Abreu, ABPI’s Secretary Director. This panel will lead the way for the closing presentation, which will discuss “The Economic Freedom Law and the BPTO in Technology Transfer Contracts.”

The event will take place at the headquarters of OAB-Alagoas, an organization supporting the event, located at Av. General Luiz de França Albuquerque, 7100, ROD. AL 101 Norte Jacarecica – Maceió.
