Another edition of the CSD-ABPI Moot, a competition focused on arbitration and intellectual property, has come to a close. Established as an important link between academia and the job market, this year’s event stood out for the absolute dominance of public higher-education institutions, which took the top three places in the tournament.
The champion was LADTech UFMG (Academic League of Law and Technology of the Federal University of Minas Gerais). UERJ (State University of Rio de Janeiro) took second place, followed by the University of São Paulo Law School (FDUSP) in third.
The organizers celebrated the dominance of UFMG, UERJ and USP as a clear demonstration of the strength of research, the commitment to excellence and the quality of public higher education in the country.
At the awards ceremony, trophies were presented by ABPI leaders: CSD-ABPI President Wilson Pinheiro Jabur; Arbitration Chamber Director Flávia Polli Rodrigues; Deputy Director Cesar Rossi Machado; and ABPI Board Director Tatiana Campello.
In addition to the teams, the CSD-ABPI Moot also honored the students who stood out most in the oral arguments. Scored by the panel of arbitrators, this edition’s three best oralists were:
1st place: Frederico Passini (Salusse, Marangoni, Parente e Jabur Advogados)
2nd place: Laura Soares Ferreira (LADTech UFMG)
3rd place: Cecília Gléria Atiê (FDUSP)
The organizers congratulated all participants and underscored the event’s role in preparing the next generation of professionals for the legal challenges of today. “More than a competition, the CSD-ABPI Moot is a space to develop talent and bring academia and the market closer together,” the institution said.
This edition of the CSD-ABPI Moot had the institutional support of the law firms Mattos Filho and Demarest.
