Registration is now open for the webinar “Patents, Public Contracts, and Arbitration”, which will take place on August 7 at 9:00 AM (BRT). The event is organized by the Arbitration Chamber (CArb) of ABPI’s Center for Dispute Resolution (CSD-ABPI). It aims to foster discussion on the use of arbitration as an effective mechanism for resolving disputes involving patent-related contracts with public entities.
In addition to promoting the work of CArb, the initiative seeks to encourage legal debate on the boundaries, challenges, and potential of arbitration in the field of Intellectual Property, particularly in matters involving public interest and the participation of government agencies as contracting parties.
The event will bring together legal experts, public sector representatives, academics, and industry professionals to engage in a technical and multidisciplinary dialogue on the feasibility, advantages, and unique features of arbitration in this context.
Confirmed speakers include:
. Karin Klempp Franco, arbitrator and Director of the Mediation Chamber (CMed) of CSD-ABPI.
. Maysa Abrahão Tavares Verzola, specialist in Strategic Litigation, Arbitration, and Administrative Law.
. Clávio Valença Filho, independent arbitrator.
. Sarita de Oliveira Moura Silva, Legal Sector Manager for the Research, Development and Innovation Center (Cenpes) and Intellectual Property at Petrobras.
The event will be organized and moderated by Flávia Tremura Polli Rodrigues, Director of CArb-ABPI, and Cesar Rossi Machado, Deputy Director.
The webinar is free for ABPI members, with special discounts available for members of partner organizations and CArb-ABPI arbitrators who are not ABPI members.
