Global State of Competition Legislation

Panel 3, “Digital Services Act and Competition Law”, brought together experts Christophe Rapin, President of the International League for Competition Law (LIDC), and Juliana Domingues, Chief Prosecutor of CADE (Brazilian Administrative Council for Economic Defense), moderated by Paulo Parente Marques Mendes. “When it comes to competition law, it is essential to always engage with representatives from all communities involved in this scenario so as not to create environments that discourage innovation. We must also keep in mind the need to support small businesses, enabling them to thrive and compete with larger companies in specific markets,” emphasized Juliana.

According to Christophe Rapin, there should be differentiation in regulations based on market maturity. “No one in the digital market, for instance, will escape necessary regulation.”
